ESTA5-Mobile: Time zone correction

Beitrag von EdwardsThomas » Fr 21. Dez 2018, 11:12

Good Morning Folks,

I am currently trying to finalise the set up of a 5 target system of Black magic frames at Easingwold Rifle Club (North Yorkshire UK). The frames are connected through the hub to a workstation with the latest software and this is showing that all frames and the printer are correctly time synchronised. However when we complete a match on any lane and send to the printer it comes out with the time 1 hour ahead of the correct time. I have checked and the workstation software is showing the correct time.

Each lane is using an android tablet running ESTA5-Mobile on Chrome and they all are set to UTC- GMT so should match my current time zone. However when I alter the time zones in ESTA5 it does not change the print out time even if I change it to Tokyo time!! I have also checked the printer and it is set correctly and synchronised.

IS ESTA5-Mobile somehow synchronised to German time?

I have checked all the downloadable manuals and can find no way of correcting this as there is no manuals that directly refer to ESTA5-mobile. and all the settings in ESTA5- Mobile for time seem to have no effect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have spent over 10 hours so far on this issue.

Kind regards and Seasons Greetings

Thomas

Hi Thomas,
where exaclty are you seeing the wrong time.

On the printout , on the ESTA5-Mobile ?
What are the exact settings on your workstation in relation to UTC and what time is on the printout?

Good morning Chris, the time is wrong on all the printout, I can’t see the time displayed anywhere except the device time on Esta5-mobile (which is correct).
The settings on the workstation are: UTC , GMT.
Which should have given 18.33. This was confirmed on the workstation by the range log which showed the correct time 18.33

However when the results were saved as a pdf on any of the ESTA5-mobile tablets and printed they are 19.33 or an hour ahead whenever we print. This is why I fee like it is being driven from ESTA5-Mobile app.

Should the tablets be visible in the workstation control software as control pc’s ?

Hi Thomas,

i have just checked what time will be used for the shoots in the database.
In the database the timestamp of each shoot is a timestamp of the actual time of the server.
(Checked by changing to GMT-UTC and the time is -1h of geman time which would mean in the past ;-) )
And looking into SSMDBII database.

After each change of the timezone the services in the control panel need to be restarted.
smtimedll is the "Master time Server" for Meyton soft and hardware and this will be normally started timesynced to the computer ntp service.

Can you check for a file in /var/run/
timesyncserver
or
timesyncoff
or
timesyncon?
Which one is available on your server?
In my case it is timesyncserver for comparison.

On the printout the top time is the timestamp of the last shoot an not when you begun to shoot.
And of course on the bottom line the printing time.
