We have acquired a datalogic TD1100 USB Barcode Scanner for use with Shootmaster. Can you provide any advice or information about installing and configuring it?
Thanks

Re: Bar Code Scanner
Hello Rutty,
In principle, a barcode scanner is not installed. I also have one for our biggest competitions. Here I use the Albasca USB CCD 820. Also the model 800 of Albasca can be used and is recommended by Meyton.
Best regards

Re: Bar Code Scanner
Thanks Mario,
How did you install the scanner on your control PC? We have a lot of IT knowledge in our club, but barcode scanners are something we know very little about. All the installation procedures seem to involve scanning a code, but as their appears to be no host, it’s a bit chicken and egg. Which comes first!!

Re: Bar Code Scanner
Hello Rutty,
the Scanner does not need to be installed.
This is simply connected to the computer and he is ready.

Re: Bar Code Scanner
Thanks Mario,
That’s what we thought. I think it may be an issue in the boot sequence that results in the PC not recognising the device. We shall look into it.

Rutty

Re: Bar Code Scanner
Hello Rutty,
the barcode reader should act as a normal USB Keyboard.
http://treiber-handbuch.id-austria.at/m ... TD1100.pdf
To reprogram if necessary you can use the barcodes in the manual.
To check if it acts as a normal keyboard simply open a texteditor and scan some barcodes.
You should see the numbers in the texteditor.
Best regards
Chris

Re: Bar Code Scanner
Thank you very much, that’s just the guidance I needed.
Rutty
Addition:
Further investigation has revealed that the scanner appears to have a ROM fault and that was the reason it wasn't working. We shall acquire a replacement and see how that goes.
